Saranac 1888 Root Beer

near perfection. an incredible head and a great smooth flavor really make this brew stand out from the crowd. not too sweet and the sweetness it has got is just nice, the corn syrup doesn’t come off as too syrupy and gooey like in some other brands. sadly they started brewing this right after i moved back to NJ from college so i have to content myself with buying a bunch of it when i go back to the area.
Ingredients:filtered water, high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, sodium benzoate (preserves freshness), natural and artificial flavors, citric acid and modified food starch

Faygo Diet Root Beer

this sucks. tastes nothing like root beer really at all. just crappy nutrasweet, which i though tasted a lot better when i got those free gumballs in the mail when it came out so many years ago. oh well. weird, i am sure they will never do that sort of promo again, it is not like there were free gummi worms made with Splenda or whatever when they came out with that clorinated sugar nonsense. wel, this is more proof that diet soda stinks.

Mug Brand Root Beer

quite a good brew for a major label. behind a&w, probably my favorite. and perhaps IBC, it just depends on my mood really. a very solid root beer flavor, nothing really special or tricky about it and it is refreshing because of this, to me at least.
Ingredients:carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup and/or sugar, caramel color, sodium benzoate (preserves freshness), natural and artificial flavors, citric acid, modified food starch, erythorbic acid (preserves freshness) and gum arabic.

IGA Store Root Beer

a really bad root beer. well, as something called “rootbeer” it is no good. as something called, for example “sugar water” it might be great. yeh, there is so little taste it is crazy. i would guess it was sprite i think if i didn’t know and they did one of the of the blind taste test deals. oh well, can’t win em all i suppose. but does IGA brand anything win any of ‘em really? it is a store brand afterall.
