a generic root beer that is crazy carbonated. i kind of like the packaging although anything called “root beer soda” has to be somewhat suspect. i guess it just adds to the generic charm of it or something. it is a little hard to get past the carbonation to the real taste but it seems pretty alright i guess. nothing amazing or unique but for 20 cents or so i am ok with it.

Spring Grove Root Beer

Type: Root Beer Comes In: 10oz glass bottle
Available: IA, MN, MS, WI Obtained in: mail from stuart in WI
Head: Small Sweetener: cane sugar

this root beer is nutty. not like a filbert or anything though. small, short bottle. makes me think it is meant to fit in your hand as a molotov cocktail or something later on. or maybe that is just me. the glass is quite thick too so it may not work well for that purpose. it could be so that it will fit in kids’ small hands. look all cute for the children and junk. it has a good taste also. “natural” tasting, you can definitely tell it is cane sugar in here. it has wacky chemicals in it though so it is not really natural beyond that. tastes like it is more carbonated than it actually is. a good drink for when you are not REALLY thirsty.

the 16 oz bottle is quite unique and a nice thing really. since i would like to savor this fine beverage for a while. some drinks that try to do the sweetened with honey thing are overwhelmed by it, but not sprecher. i would think it would be even better if they used cane sugar instead of corn syrup. maybe be a little less syrupy. not that it is overwhelmingly so or anything. not very carbonated either, surprisingly, maybe i just ended up with a weird bottle. a good brew here though anyway!

Ingredients: carbonated water, fructose corn syrup, malto dextrin, raw Wisconsin honey, natural and artificial flavors, vanilla, phosphoric acid, sodium benzoate (a preservative)

sadly i think i have let this sit too long. dumb me. i did try a bottle when i got this 6 pack like 5 months ago so i shall try and recall that now. it could just be this one bottle is bad really. i shall try another one, hold on… yeh, it is a bit better, warm but whatever, i shall deal and review this sucker. it has yucca and quillaia extracts so i think they are trying to make it creamy. and it is overall. it is an enjoyable drink although not really set apart from others. better than a lot though and i’d pick this over anything else i saw in that store in wilkes-barre which was not ill-stocked.

Ingredients: carbonated water (water, carbon dioxide), high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, naturally and artificially flavored, phosphoric acid, quillaia extract, yucca extract and acacia
