wow, also a very fine beverage. strangely i see Hank’s Root Beer all over the place, but i have only seen this birch beer in 2 places in Wilkes Barre. odd indeed. oh well. it is a red birch, but it is minty which is a little bit weird since it is usually the clear birch beers that are minty. quite a bit of fizzy to it, but still a little bit of a creamy undertone, behind the fizz and the minty-ness. actually i think i like this a tad more than their root beer. definitely get it if you can find it. maybe try and mail order it even.

well, when i reviewed it, it has high fructose corn syrup. if they have changed that, good for them! i will try to find out and confirm.

Big Phil, actually I just purchased a bottle of this; and it does in fact use HFCS. The only difference is the labeling of the bottle. The bottle I have is called “Hanks Premium Birch Beer”. Don’t know if there’s a difference between “Gourmet” Hanks and “Premium” Hanks? Hopefully I’ll be able to find the “Gourmet” version, if there really is a difference.

Oh, and this was a darn good birch beer. It’s better than their root beer. I’d give their Birch Beer an 87.
