American Fare Root Beer

this is kinda bad. loads of carbonation, very little flavor. i suppose that is what i’d expect for soda i got for 25 cents in a machine, but still, i hoped for more. i don’t think i can even finish this, it is so bad and not worthy of drinking or even being called by the mighty name “root beer.” i really should use the money back guarentee on this one but i’d spend more on gas on the trip than i would get back. that is how they get ya i guess.

President’s Choice Old Fashioned Root Beer

the can is pretty nice looking, at least for a store brand, even though i forgot to take a picture so you will have to take my word for it. i wish i could say the same about the taste. sadly, that is pretty dull and uninteresting. not a very strong taste either although the carbonation is high and there is some hint of some strange flavor that makes me want to drink more of this stuff. not the whole can even though.
i really am not sure where i got this and in researching it, i have found that it is a pretty generic thing, available in convenience stores and various supermarkets like Fred Meyer’s and junk

Klenke Root Beer

like Private Label, this company makes root beer and other sodas for restuarants and stores and junk with custom labels. i tried it out at Moondoggie Cafe in princeton, NJ. i actually don’t even know if this is the company or not, but that is who distributes it so that is my guess. anyhow…
this soda is just what you’d expect from a root beer, nothing more, nothing less. sweet, decent carbonation, pretty creamy, it just tastes like “root beer.” that is not a bad thing since so many brands taste like rotten cheese with some slug juice in it.

Coastal Fog Draught Style Root Beer

so out of the blue i got an email about finding a new rootbeer and the person offered to send me a bottle. such kindness! of course i accepted and i will be sending her a couple of bottles of NJ’s finast soon. but still, wow! so on to the root beer! it is darn tasty! real creamy and rich, probably due to the extract of vanilla in there. it has “essence of cinnamon” too but i just don’t taste it i must admit. perhaps a little if i really concentrate. yeh, a little spicy thing right before you swallow i guess. definitely a top notch root beer which i am really glad i got to try.
Ingredients:carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, extract of vanilla, essence of cinnamon, natural and artificial flavors, sodium benzoate, phosphoric acid
