Yeah it's kind of weird that they do the whole "olde style" / "pure cane sugar" thing. I don't think they make their "olde style" root beer anymore, considering I have not been able to find it. However, this birch beer is probably my favorite birch beer so far. It's better than Boylan's birch beer, because it had better carbonation and it does not have too much mint. This one actually tastes very licoricey. I'd rate this a 90 or 91. It gets kind of thick on the back end and is a little too sweet for me. If they made it taste crisper, lessen the sweetness, and make the carbonation make your mouth tingle a little bit more; than I'd be able to give it more of a 96-98.
