the root beer! i don’t know why i didn’t review this sooner, seems silly. oh well. so yeh, let me taste it and see what is what here. have i mentioned that i love this heavy glass bottles? very great stuff. the soda itself is quite good also. sweet and roobeer-ish. does not really stand out taste-wise yet it is good enough. a solid foamy head is a testament to it’s creaminess. well, not really, it is more a testament to the yucca extract in it, but it sounds better that way. the acacia in it is a testament to the creaminess. right-o. i like it but i would not go out of my way again just to get it, yet i would buy it were it more local.

this is another root beer that i have been trying to get my hands on for a long while but never have gotten around to it. at last someone offered to send me some, which totally rocks! even better is that this soda is quite good. it has a little zing to it that i can’t quite place. maybe a spice sort of zing, but i am not sure which one. oh well. not too unique in taste, but for sure a soda i would enjoy with some pizza or just by itself, watching the Mets lose again or something. thanks again Tony for sending this!

Bad Bob’s Root Beer

April 15, 2005
Filed under: root beers — anthony @ 9:35 pm
Type: Root Beer Comes In: 12oz glass bottle
Available: discontinued Obtained in: mail from company
Head: Medium Sweetener: high fructose corn syrup, honey
Caffeine: No
Website: http://www.badbobs.org/

I first came upon this company a few years ago. they called the soda something else, “Slammer Root Beer” i do believe it was. then the website disappeared before i had a chance to order some and i was sad. but then i heard about how they changed the name and junk. and i still did not order any as i had about 20 root beers in my fridge to review. then Tony emailed me and offered to send a bottle! of course i accepted, offering to pay postage and whatever. Tony rocks! anyway, here it is now. apparently this company employs mainly ex-cons, fresh out of prison, giving them a chance to transition and have a job and junk. that is rad. and the soda is really good too! the honey is apparent but not overwhelming. sweet like i enjoy them, but not syrupy sweet. wow, really good stuff! i think i will definitely have to order some when their website comes back up. somehow they have achieved a different taste than any root beer i have had before. wacky.
