Root Jack Orange Flavored Root Beer

i am a little frightened by this drink. one, i try to avoid caffeine and other stimulants and this right here is one of those “energy drink” jobbers. two, it is orange flavored root beer! what?! i think i created such a thing in my youth when i would throw all sorts of junk from the kitchen into a glass or the blender. and i don’t recall this being one of my triumphs i will admit right off. i do kind of like creamsicles and orange soda on its own but orange flavored things usually don’t work for me. much like banana flavored stuff.
well, let’s see. ok, orangey smell… taste it already! yeah, not so good. well, let me not think of it as a root beer for a second and just as a soda, try it again… um no, sorry still just not so good. there is no trace of root beer here either, as far as my taste buds can detect. it definitely is orange flavored though. and it has a very very large foamy head! wow, i don’t think i have seen a beast like that ever. wacky. and it does not go away. but the taste is strange, it is at once sweet and sour. i am not saying it is terrible, it is tolerable and ok as a beverage but as a root beer it kind of fails to me, even by my wide ranging definition of such a thing. oh well. they seem like a very nice and good company so i hoped to enjoy this but it does not live up to my hopes.
Ingredients:carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, natural & artificial flavors, citric acid, quillaja, xanthan gum, ascorbic acid, caffeine, potassium citrate, caramel color, guarana seed extract
