ah, ok, so i DID have one more of the offerings from this company! good good. i gather the premise of this soda is that the profits go towards some kids with the initials ‘D’ and ‘A’ and their college fund or some such thing. which is nice and sweet and cute and all. perhaps it is even these kids dressed like small hooligans/newsboys/new kids on the block with their plaid vests but no shirt and rolled up jeans and no shoes. and one newsboy cap. they are sitting on some pseudo old timey thing with iron wheels, maybe it is supposed to be a cart of some sort? or a weird train car thing? i don’t know. it is unimportant but it bothers me.
also bothering me is the improper capitalization on the label. yes i know, me complaining about capitalization is quite pot-kettle like, but i just don’t capitalize much of anything, they seem to be trying to get it right. oh well, maybe that shows more that these lil scallywags need a proper education so you should buy more soda. good plan people!
the soda itself? oh yeah, almost forgot. it is actually really good. very smooth, that extra vanilla in the ingredients makes itself known but it does not overwhelm as i feared it might. it blends well with the carbonation. the honey sweetness is excellent, i quite like most drinks sweetened with honey i will admit. a couple of em have overdone it, but again, with this one, they get it just right. i would say this is the best of the Old Town Root Beer Co’s offering. so i guess i saved the best for last, unintentionally of course. whatever. it does not quite reach the upper upper level, there is a spiciness that i like to have, something that really distinguishes a soda that is not here. it tastes much like 4 or 5 others, which is not a bad thing if those 4 or 5 are also excellent sodas. if it was not insanely pricey to ship to me, i would order some more of it though i will say.
now go suppory these rapscallions and their education!
Ingredients:carbonated water, cane sugar, honey, natural and other flavors, sodium benzoate (preserves freshness), phosphoric acid, extra real vanilla
