it was quite an adventure to obtain this soda! i figured since i live in NJ and go to NY occasionally, and have a few friends in NYC that i would happen upon this soda at some point. but nope, i never have. so finally i broke down and just mail ordered some when i saw it was on sale. after 3 months and a few emails back and forth i still had not gotten it and got my money back. then a few months later they had it on sale again, so i emailed to be sure they will actually send it this time. they promised profusely they would so i ordered again. and this time i got it! hoorah and other excited sounds! actually i got a mixed case as i like other flavors too.
i expected this to be a pretty standard root beer. it seems that when a company makes more than 5 or so flavors, they just resort to mostly expected tastes. perhaps they are pulled in too many directions or unable to really focus on one thing at a time. and mostly i am right about that here. they DO mostly go for a standard flavor but they jazz it up a bit, in a very good way.
you know, 99% of the time, when i review a soda, it is the first time i am ever tasting it. about 50% of the time i would say that it is the ONLY time i ever taste it as i only get one bottle. so if i got a bad bottle, i would never know it. but this one i have had at least one or two bottles of already. and i don’t recall them being as good as this one! weird. i think i have one or two more bottles left so i will have to see how those go down.
the sweetness is just right on this drink. not over or underly sweet. plus there is a little bit of a herbal slap in there, enough to keep it interesting. it isn’t a-to-the-mazing but it is a solid, good soda that i would enjoy drinking at many functions. the design work reminds me of an 80s candy like Razzles or something so i would change that if i were them, but who am i to say?
Ingredients:carbonated water, cane sugar, natural and artificial flavor, citric acid, sodium benzoate (preservative)

I'm wondering where you can buy this stuff? I live in Midtown but have never seen it. I see they want "sample 'girls'" to help get it out there but I exceed the age limit by 23 years. Their loss–I have really cool hair. 🙂

I want some of this. And thirst monger doesn't seem to have it. The company doesn't seem to make contacting them easy either. If you ever see any more of this please snag me two.

Thank you for the review. I am glad you liked the soda. Sorry to hear about the difficulty you had obtaining it. We mostly distribute in the Bronx at this time and upstate NY. We are still getting our name out there. You can always order from me directly at bronxpop@aol.com. You can also follow me on twitter, Nicky@bronxpop.
