there is not too much to be said about this brew. it is sort of blah. not bad at all but not the greatest thing since pink peeps or anything. let me see… a bit of a bitterness to it which is not so bad really. not sweet enough at first but you get used to it. and not very bubbly although it seems to be so. just pretty regular for a sarsapirilla.

I’m gonna be the lone dissenter here. I really like this stuff. Manhattan Special uses real sarsaparilla flavoring and this is how I imagine that sarsaparilla is supposed to taste (not like root beer). I only wish it (and for that matter, all of the non-coffee M.S. flavors) were more readily available but they’re not, at least in Manhattan.
This one was just alright. Baron’s Boothill is better.
I agree with the review,I gave this a 55
Trying this one again, I can say it’s not bad. Pretty average sarsaparilla flavor, nothing too special. I’d give it a 79.
Wow, it’s taken me years to finally figure this drink out, but this is one of my top 3 best sarsaparillas!
I originally gave it a 79, however after re-reviewing it I have realized that I have gotten it wrong this whole time. This one is sooo good. It has a light mint-heavy licorice flavor that I love. Plus it has a great sarsaparilla flavor that is not too fruity tasting….because I hate fruity tasting sarsaparillas. This just has a perfectly sweetened balance of sugar and thick sarsaparilla flavor. This stuff is worthy of a 90.
[…] I like what they did with it, it is rather high class I suppose I would say. I first reviewed their old recipe in 1997 I believe. so it has been a while indeed. I do not recall it being all that good, hence me […]
