Lakefront Brewery Golden Maple Root Beer

this is one of the more uniquely colored root beers i have had i must say. it is actually the closest to an actual “beer” color of any soda i have had. which also means it is closer to actual “pee” color too, if you are keeping track at home. as i love maple syrup and the few maple syrup containing root beers i have had have not quite lived up to the hope, i am rather excited about this one.
and you know what? this rocks!! wow. yum. it does even sort of taste like root beer, but on the whole it has its own unique taste. it is light and almost refreshing. you can taste the maple just a bit but it does not take over the whole thing as i was worried it would. the actual taste is kind of like mixing a stereotypical root beer with a sweet tea and a bit of ginger ale and adding some maple syrup. except better than that sounds. very nice work yet again from the Wisconsin area! Lenny and Squeegy must be proud!
the last few sodas i have reviewed have been very high quality, or perhaps i am getting more kind in my old age, who knows… i need some gross diet soda to re-affirm my belief in my meanness i think.

I looked in your availability chart and there are two other locations that I know of in Wisconsin to purchase Lakefront Golden Maple Root Beer. One is where I first purchased it – the Bavaria Sausage Kitchen in Verona and the other is in some Maple Syrup type farm (I’m not sure of the name) in Clinton. Anyway, I haven’t tasted a ton of differnt sodas as you have, however the Lakefront Brewerey’s Golden Maple Root Beer is, without a doubt, wonderfully delicious.

  3. My first time ever hearing of this soda, as well as tasting it was yesterday. And to think I’ve lived in Wisconsin all but 1 year of my life! I saw the Golden Maple Root Beer at the Weyauwega Cheese booth at the Princeton, WI flea market. I bought a bottle to try, seeing as I love almost anything maple flavored. I was surprised at how good this root beer is, and it did not leave a bad after taste in my mouth. I wish I could find it in the stores to purchase. Unfortunately, Milwaukee is a bit far to drive for root beer though.

I love this stuff! I get it at Mars Cheese Castle (outside of Kenosha, WI off of I-94) and usually buy every bottle I can find when they have it in stock.

  5. I really wanted to try this but have never seen it here in MN. For me to drive to Wisc and buy it would be like 5 hours and they might not have it.

Well I just today drove back to the MN largest candy store. Last year when I was there they claimed to offer about 90 types of root beer. This time they boast over 100. I came home with 15 bnew ones and this was one of them. SCORE!!!!

This was a huge surprise, It really is good. I will give this an 85
