Reading Draft Diet Root Beer

ah, the diet… saving the probable worst for last. but we shall see, i don’t want to pre-judge it. at least this way, with low expectations, it has no where to go but up, right? yes yes.
as with many diet sodas, this starts off pretty good. the taste is actually not bad at all. for about 5 seconds it fully tastes like an ok root beer. then it gets to my stomach and the back of the throat tastes really hit me and it is like i sucked on a nickel. or maybe a strange foreign coin, like a loony or whatever they call the two dollar coin in Canada. i have not sucked on any coins in as long as i can recall so i really am not a judge of that sort of thing.
i thank my lucky stars that i can drink sugary drinks every time i have a diet one. i also like having functioning kidneys and other innards so i don’t like diet sweeteners for other reasons too, besides the icky taste sensation. but if you like that stuff or just have to drink it, then you are not going too wrong here. it does taste good for a diet soda. a little watery and not too huge of a flavor but it is better than a generic diet soda. and better than many sugared root beers too if you look at my ratings! now that is a shame, wasting precious calories on a bad sugared soda. to each their own though…
