Cosmo comes through again with another new soda for me! what a kind fellow he is! supposedly this is made by the people who made Sonora Root Beer which is a pretty fine soda. curiously enough, just like the Brick Oven soda that i got from Cosmo, this one is basically flat, no carbonation. coincidence? probably.
the graphic design here is ok but the label itself is junkier than the labels i made myself for the soda at my wedding. it is sticker paper and there is a decent amount of pixalization in the graphics. the fonts look sharp but the strange fellow with the sole patch and cheesy hat (who i can only assume is supposed to be JJ Lazlo himself?) as well as a couple of other spots, just look kind of cheap. oh well. new company and all. what matter more is the soda itself.
they tout the vanilla in here several times on the label so i was expecting something with a strong vanilla flavor but that is not so much the case. the honey flavor comes through much more strongly. i like honey so this is fine by me. i am reminded of the Sonora Root Beer actually, but with less carbonation and perhaps a bit less sweetness. but i have not had that drink in 10 years so i could be wrong. this is good, the honey does make it a bit unique, but beyond that i am not so excited by it. carbonation would be a nice feature to add. and maybe a little more of the herbs & spices they check off on the side of the bottle checklist. if i saw it on a menu, i would get it but i would not mail order a case or something. if you are in Arizona, go try it.
