Hannaford Root Beer

store brand soda! aw yeah!!!
i thought i had reviewed this one years ago as i have been to Hannaford a few times in the last 15 or so years. i suppose i just never got the store brand stuff for whatever reason. not that it is too pressing of a desire, to add another store brand soda to my reviews, but i will take what i can get in these lean days.

i like that they have this warning on it, just in case of lawsuits: “WARNING: CAP MAY BLOW OFF CAUSING EYE OR OTHER SERIOUS INJURY. POINT AWAY FROM PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY WHILE OPENING.” that sort of scares me although i have opened countless soda bottles in my time and have yet to have one blow off. this bottle is very hard and solid before i open it so perhaps they put extra carbonation in there. i will point it away from all as i now open it.
ok, that was not so bad, no eyes lost, very good.
it is not even that highly carbonated either. alas.

i am not sure what they are going for in the graphic design work here. it is bad fonts meets 70s album design or something. just lots of circles and lines and junk. i am not a fan of it so much.

the taste is actually ok. for a store brand, i’d buy this one if i lived closer to a location and really needed two liters of soda but only had 79 cents or whatever. i don’t think that scenario has ever transpired for me as of yet but one does not know what tomorrow will bring. it is a bit too syrupy for my tastes, the corn syrup really shows through. but it has a bit of an edge, an artificial herbal kick going on in there which is a change of pace. beyond that it is a normal, expected root beer flavor.
