another soda from College Club in their Fiz line! hooray. I will assume ‘Roc City’ is a reference to Rochester, NY? makes sense and it is a fine nickname that i had never heard before. let me say, first off, that these two bottles have been the hardest to twist off twist off caps I have ever encountered. wow! they really want to keep it fresh up there i guess. i should bring one of those rubber jar/bottle opening mats with me when I review sodas apparently. or at least College Club ones.
the tight cap did its job here, it is very well carbonated, it a bit too much of a harsh way for me. it isn’t the worst quality but also not a plus. i will let it calm down a little and try again. ok, now it is not so bad. i am surprised that they veered away from the normal root beer flavor a bit here, not a ton, but enough to make it unique. there is very much a richness to it, a good amount of caramel and spices, i think some cinnamon and maybe clove. there is definitely vanilla as well to give it a creamy taste despite the carbonation harshness. no, it isn’t the best soda i have had, but it is quite solid and a very welcome surprise in its difference. now i want to try their normal College Club root beer to see what they did there.

I just came across this root beer from the blue sun soda store here in town. The cap as you stated, was on so tight, I did not know it was twist off. The root beer has a almost wintergreen/anise taste. Its a little to strong for my tastes, I do enjoy the stronger carbonation though, some almost seem flat, due to the lack of it. For me, its not bad and I give it a 75
