at this point I am not quite sure how I came upon this company and their drinks. not that is matters too much, but i do like to explain and offer a potentially amusing anecdote whenever possible. in any case, it arrived at my home one day along with the diet version after i sent them some money. I am assuming the Bobby Joe from Branson, MO on the label is someone they know? or perhaps it is just a fictional person? i really don’t know but having their home town on there makes it seem like a real person. this fella has only 3 teeth, no shirt with his denim overalls, a barbed wire arm band and a hat that is curiously both camo and black & white. now if that was me, i am not sure how happy i would be about it. but then again, i am not country folk, so maybe this is a positive portrayal for this lad. the label also features a scene of presumably a county folk’s typical home? that being a trailer, satalite dish, couch outside, outhouse, moonshine barrel, green water filled above ground pool, a chicken and a lawnmower.
the flavor of this drink is very vanilla heavy, very creamy. i don’t mind that exactly, of the different recipe directions that brewers often go, this is not my favorite, but still closer to the top than the bottom. it also comes across as a little bit fruity and that is where it loses a few points for me. i taste hints of a few herbs here, maybe clove and wintergreen but they are not really upfront enough to combat the fruity herbal thing going on. it is still not bad yet i’m not buying more anytime soon.
