Kroger’s Real Sugar Root Beer

this is a curious step in a good direction. i mean, often when a brand decides to do a real sugar variety, they make it seem more upscale and fancy and all of that and put it in glass, charging triple the usual price. but Kroger’s did not do that. they did cane sugar in a can. which is fine by me. they did make the cane more fancy, with some old time black and white photo of a Kroger’s on it. i do find it curious that the ingredients is just “sugar” and not “cane sugar” which would be more what the fuss is about. but whatever, i’ll take it.
so if you want something that tastes like ROOT BEER! this would be a good example, it is very sweet, with a little bit of a bite and a slightly too harsh mouth feel. it is fine, it is good for enjoying with pizza or some barbecued thing and that is about what i would expect from a store brand that is rather cheap. i do find the carbonation too high, which causes that harsh mouth feel and also some not so fun burps. and yes, some burps are kind of fun, these hurt a little and come out my nose for whatever reason. and they are not clearing my sinuses either!
