so this is it, the end of the six pack of “pop’s day” special root beers that Northern Soda Company did for father’s day 2020. although I do enjoy butterscotch root beers and have had a few of them over the years, this is probably the least unique of the six flavors. which I suppose makes it the one I least looked forward to. but still, I am excited about it.
surprisingly this is not that strongly butterscotch. similar to the other Northern Soda flavors though, it is very sweet. I can’t say it is that strongly root beer flavored either though. more than anything it is just sweet and a little butterscotchy and root beery. it does not have that bad butterscotch aftertaste that some other butterscotch root beers seem to have, which is a plus. the carbonation is good as well, it does not interfere with the flavor or dominate the soda, so that is also a good thing. on the whole though I am not so impressed or excited about this one. I could have done without it frankly. and steve-ly too. that is sort of sad that this is the flavor I am going out of these reviews with. but something had to be last and something had to be the worst, so it was a matter of chance that those two things would overlap.
