Triple XXX Cane Sugar Root Beer

Triple XXX Root Beer has also altered this recipe! woo! the “since 1895” tagline is a little silly when they make it differently occasionally. although the brand itself is still going since then, sort of. I think there was a very large gap of decades in those intervening years as well. so they use cane sugar now. and the ingredient order is different. they did go back to an older style logo and label design though, which I like much more personally, so kudos on that one. I don’t think the old bottles this is modeled after said “gluten free” though, haha.
the old recipe was, if I recall correctly, just fine, nothing special or unusual but your standard root beer. I expect this one will be very similar.
on the whole, yeah, this is pretty standard, but a good standard. the flavor changes as it goes in and down the ole mouth / throat / gullet combo. at first it is a little sharp and I am a bit taken aback and not too into it, but then that calms and a mellow creaminess intensifies to a pretty good vanilla / caramel smooth feel and taste. this is better than I expected to be. I am quite pleasantly surprised here. I have had better, yes, but of the bigger, old / classic brands, this may be one of the best. so nice work XXXXXXXXX! that is a lot of X’s. tripling the triple X! straight edge, true til death! =)
