whoa, yet another Route 66 theme root beer! this time it is Mother Road Route 66 Root Beer from Mother Road sodas who seem to be a new company although they are bottled by Filberts and the ingredients are almost identical so it may really just be a vanity label or a re-branding or something. whatever, this has cane sugar, when I reviewed Filberts it did not, so it is different enough for me. but they are a Chicago company, which seems a little unusual, but whatever, it is all America, right? and I suppose the obsession with Route 66 and root beer is that they both sort of harken back to an earlier time and seem quite 50s-ish in ways. at least from what my impression of Route 66 is, maybe that is all wrong, I was not close to alive in the 50s after all.
so this root beer just kind of is a root beer. that seems to be happening often lately. nothing much ventured here, but just a decent root beer anyway. it has a nice head so looks pretty in that regard but it does not matter much in the end. it has a fine taste, sweet yet creamy and quite smooth. the carbonation is good, it doesn’t hurt my face area in any way, also a plus. so ok maybe it is more than just kind of a root beer, it is fine and tasty but nothing unusual. you go into this expecting a root beer and you get one, seems like a pretty good deal I suppose, right? right.

I actually liked this one quite a bit. Believe in the high 80s. Better than the usual Filberts.
