this was a very nice surprise indeed! I recently took a trip with my daughters to Pennsylvania to go to a bunch of amusement parks and the like. around the middle of it we went to Hershey Park. you may not realize but I have a bit of a sweet tooth. so we are at Hershey, home of mainly mediocre chocolate but also the Crispy Crunchy bar which is one of the best candy bars ever yet really not available much of anywhere else. so of course I had to buy a box. but it being August in PA and only halfway through this trip, chocolate would not do so well in the car. and this brings me to the point of the whole tale. I needed a cooler! I asked the front desk people at our hotel for the closest supermarket. the kind lady directed me to drive about five miles down the road and I’ll see this one whose name I cannot recall. I looked at my GPS and that is the total wrong direction and road to go down, but I try anyway. I mean, this front desk lady lives here, Google does not, right? but eventually I give in to Google and start to head the right way, which lead me to pass Weis Market and so I pulled in there instead. I got my cooler but had to check the soda aisle of course. I found this as well as a birch beer I will get to in a few weeks or so. I tried to check their store brands against what I had reviewed earlier but the network was junky and I gave up, although I should have just bought some anyway.
now if you were to blind taste test thing, not knowing it is a store brand, frankly I might guess it is a fancy store brand. lol. I mean, it has that sharp carbonation that seems to come with sch things. it is not always a bad thing, but sometimes it is overdone and is bad. here it is fine. beyond that it has a strong vanilla profile and a pretty straight forward rooty taste. it is enjoyable but not amazing or adventurous or anything like that. if I lived closer and it was on sale I might buy it instead of other stuff readily available. I applaud Weis for making it, more super markets should follow suit.
