this is the only birch beer offering from Nifty Fifty. that is sort of disappointing to me, but I recognize there is only so much space on the fountain so getting four new sodas is quite amazing no matter what. they decided to go with a red birch which is fine by me. sure a white birch would be my first pick, but no matter at all.
at this point in my life I have had a good number of birch beers, good ones, great ones and a couple of bad ones. this one here fits in there as a mediocre birch beer. it is fine. it has a bit of the minty wintergreen that I like and prefer in my birch beers. beyond that there is not much to it. it is sweet enough, has enough carbonation, nothing really of note in either directions on those points. it is decent and drinkable and fine. I shouldn’t really expect too much more from this establishment but I must.
