Clouds Brewing Root Beer

the kindness of the good doctor once again results in a new soda for me! this one comes from the second most mysterious triangle region after that Bermuda one (which had let me down for root beers I might add), the Raleigh / Durham regain of North Carolina. they seem to have a restaurant in each place and the actual brewery inside the ole beltline in North Raleigh, so if you are ever in the general vicinity of places named for cigarette brands, maybe stop on by. well, actually let’s try this out before I say that…
there is a pretty strong flavor here, robust some might even say and as I just said it, you can include me in that “some” we just talked of. it has a lot going on within that flavor. first up is a solid licorice taste that thankfully does not overpower the rest of it. there is also a nice wintergreen edge and a good amount of “rooty-ness” from sassafras or perhaps sarsaparilla or at least artificial versions of those tastes. it does go down pretty smoothly, perhaps due to the honey and agave. you want to sit and enjoy this brew, concentrate on it. not that you have to, you could very well just drink it down and be refreshed quite well but to really appreciate it fully I think time should be taken here. I am quite a fan of this so yes, I will stick with my suggestion to go visit this place. they serve it on draft as well so that might be an even better experience.
