Filbert’s Pumpkin Root Beer

I have been after this soda for a couple of years now. ever since I first heard they were making it. I believe it was 2021 but maybe 2022. in any case, they did not seem to mailorder it and the places that carried regular Filbert’s did not have it in stock or else only sold it in person or something. so I was elated to finally find some at what seemed to me to be the most random of places, a hardware store that sold online. I know I have heard tales of hardware stores with extensive soda selections, perhaps in an attempt to distinguish themselves from the big orange and blue giants or to branch out and attract a different sort of customer, but there are none of that sort of establishment around me.
I have had a couple of other pumpkin root beers in the past and feel like it is a fun and good concept. really, there are so great potential root beer taste combos that are unexplored. I am kind of rooting for a lime or lemon root beer. maybe raspberry even.
this pumpkin root beer is not all the pumpkin. it is not even that much root beer, but it is identifiable as that. I for sure would not guess this as pumpkin flavored. I am not saying it is a bad drink really though. it has a kind of earthy taste, quite sweet and a bit too much carbonation. it is lighter than I would expect from a general root beer, while still being sort of herbal. maybe more of a sweet tea thing going on here, but not regular sweet iced tea but some sweet herbal tea that is carbonated and chilled. yeah, I will go with that.
