Wegmans Diet Fountain W Root Beer

yeah, i know, yet another store brand diet root beer. i hate having to cart around these big 2 liter bottles also, so i try to avoid it, but i am attempting to get to the sodas i can find that i have overlooked for this long. and diet store brand sodas are the bottom of that barrel if you will forgive the double meaning there.
i like Wegmans as a store, basically. they have a huge natural and organic section with loads of bins of dry rice and the like along with tons of vegetarian fare. yet the actual, normal grocery part leaves a bit to be desired. prices are usually high and selection is not always the best. oh well, it is the trade off one must make, if i want 4 kinds of veggie sausages, i can’t get mild Goya pico de gallo. yet they have the best root beer selection in the area.
nevertheless, this is not good. at all. ok, maybe that is an exaggeration. it is alright for a bit but the diet aftertaste / tummy rumbler kicks in and that is never good at all. that initial taste is root beer-like but still kind of bitter and rough. it does not go down smoothly. then the taste turns to that of aluminum foil licking and i need to take some water to clear my mouth out. also, this either was on the shelf a long while or the expiration date is very quick. i think i bought this about 2 months ago and it is best by tomorrow. weird. glad i got it in my belly in time. well, sort of…
