Cider Mill Soda Co Rootin Tootin Root Beer

the powerful Jon sent me an email recently (well, recently to when i write this, which is about a year before you will read this) after a long hiatus and told me of several sodas i did not know existed. i don’t know how he does it, i try my darnedest to find new sodas myself, but he always has 5 or 10 sodas i have never seen. this time i did know about a couple, but there were a bunch yet again that i did not. and several that i could order right away. so i did order this one as well as their diet root beer which shall be tasted soon.
the picture amuses me in that it is a keg of (presumably) root beer with a ten gallon hat with six shooters in each hand ablazing which is sticking out its tongue to catch a drop of soda dripping from its spigot nose.
the flavor is decent. a little watery for my tastes but not bad. it also has very little fizz or foamy head. that may be a bad bottle i got so i will try another one shortly and see. i don’t think so since they do proclaim their soda “lightly carbonated” so it seems on purpose, in an effort to work better in floats. that may be true, there is nothing worse (ok, there are millions of things worse, but bear with me here) than putting a scoop of ice cream in your soda and it foaming over. perhaps the agave is what is making it a bit different and distinct since it does have a bit of a variation on the standard theme. on the whole though it is just alright. not enough flavor for me and kind of bland.
