Northern Soda Company Bing Cherry Root Beer

it is that time of the year again! no, not the end of the school year, although it is in fact that as well. and no, not the start of summer, which it is in fact. I mean, it is Father’s Day! which means I get to do what I want to do within the realm of things my kids would be willing to do. =) but it also means that Northern Soda Company put out their Father’s Day mixed six pack of root beers! this year it has three new flavors, which is very exciting. this one I am most interested in trying, so that explains why it is the first one I am trying.
huh, this is not really what I had imagined. you see, this morning I has a cherry ginger beer which was very enjoyable. plus the other cherry root beers I have had seemed to follow a similar sort of street. this one is different. it is much more a very sweet, candy cherry taste that gets very close to cherry flavored cough syrup territory instead of the more subtle cherry of something like cherry ice cream. in addition I really would not guess this would be called a root beer if it did not say it on the label. I kind cherry soda in general. cherry flavored sodas are usually quite good. yet this is not all that good. i don’t think I got my hopes up too high really, have been doing this thing for 26 years now, nonetheless I am rather let down. well, you can’t win them all and Northern Soda Co does and has made some much better root beer flavors. hopefully the other ones in this pack are in this latter category.
