
long time readers of this site may know that I don’t generally consume caffeine. I like coffee but I only have it maybe 3 times a year if that. I’ve never drank an energy drink for the effects, only for review here. I do occasionally have caffeinated sports drinks though for athletic events. this is a long winded way of getting to the point of me not really wanting to try this thing. granted I am not going to drink the whole can, which has more caffeine than two cups of coffee, but still… I have to be careful even about when I eat coffee ice cream as it can keep me awake for many hours after.
thus I will be consuming as little of this as I can. let’s see….
whoa, this tastes weird. not really root beer at all. huh. just a bizarre fruity sweet thing. it isn’t actually bad so that is noteworthy. I am always dinging normal root beers for not being more adventurous but I really think there has to be some even slight resemblance to root beer. if I were to do a blind taste test I should be able to guess the drink is supposed to be a root beer and not some tropical thing. this kind of fails that test. so for that it gets downgraded. if I was doing a general soda site it would rank more highly. there is a whole lot of stuff in this thing which supposedly is good for you, but I don’t care to drink enough of it even this once to really get any benefits, but if that is your thing, go for it. I hear police officers now prefer Bang to coffee by a decent margin, especially when working night shifts. there are worse things to drink. really I think this might be the best of the energy root beer drinks I’ve had but I would have to look to find that out for sure. until I dumped out the remainder I did not realize this is clear! that is a nice touch, so kudos for that as well.
