this one is the final of their four root beer offerings. i still have the birch beer and sarsaparilla to go though so don’t fret too much. i actually mixed the extract about a month ago but did not carbonate it until now. i am not sure it really matters. their advice is just to let it get cold for at least 8 hours before carbonation and i certainly did that!
i can see the cream aspect here, but it is definitely a root beer. a very creamy one, but a root beer nonetheless. i think i over sweetened it but i just followed their recipe so i shall judge it based on that. it does remind me of their other offerings which makes sense, they seemed to have added some cream to the base recipe. that is not a bad thing really. i don’t always like really creamy root beers and i really don’t like cream soda, but this one strikes me right. they did not overdo the cream at all, it is there and upfront but so is the root and herbal flavor and sweetness too. the herbalness is interesting and unique to this line of extracts. i have a ton more of this stuff although i am not sure i will go to the trouble of making it again. but really the same goes for pretty much all of these extracts and syrups and the like, i am lazy in the end so would rather grab a bottle of already made soda than plan ahead enough to have this ready to drink. although it would save money if i drank soda often, which i actually do not.
