they proclaim “great new taste!” on the can, so it must be good! well, at least it must be different from when I first reviewed Whole Food 365 brand root beer many years prior, which in fact it is. I do wonder if they changed it previously as well and I missed my chance to review the in between recipe. oh well, no matter at this point, too late if so.
i vaguely recall the old recipe being pretty darn terrible so I am hoping this is in fact a great new taste, or at least a better one. ok, yes it is. yeah, I could drink this. it has become a rather normal store brand, generic tasting root beer, but at least it is not bad. I mean when you buy a store brand soda you sort of expect a certain flavor / taste / experience. although Whole Food is sort of known for being a little different and wacky, so I was somewhat thinking this might be more unique. it isn’t. and that is just fine. so I guess good job Whole Foods on making a normal tasting root beer. the carbonation is solid, the sweetness is a little bit high, as expected with 44 grams of sugar in here. I guess I will have to skip my nightly bowl of ice cream tonight after I drink this one. alas.
