coming from the generous Gene is this birch beer I had never known existed! it is nutty how that works, Pennsylvania is close by yet I have no clue what is out there. it is father’s day as I write this so I figured I should have my favorite type of soda, white birch beer. yes, I am a bit biased, but I try to keep expectations in check.
hhhhmmm, this has more upfront carbonation than I would like, like aggressive, harsh carbonation that some sodas have although I am not sure the true source of that. sadly that dominates the mouth feel and experience. the flavor is a bit weak as well unfortunately. if it had a stronger taste it could overcome that rough sparkling bubble action. it has a bit of a wintergreen tough but mainly it is a sweet tasting sparkling water to me. that is a shame. I had high hopes, but it won’t break my spirit, I’ll look ahead just the same. I believe I have their root beer in my fridge to review soon as well so perhaps that will be better and restore my belief in this brewery.
