very kindly, this company had 3 bottles of this stuff hand bottled just for me to try! wow. it is really just sold on tap in the Steelhead brewpubs. anyhow, it is quite yummy. it has a subtle anise taste to it and something else making it oh so slightly bitter while still being slightly sweet. it reminds me (strangely) of a really good root beer barrel candy i had once, only not as sweet. they tell me adults prefer this formulation and i would definitely see why, with the bitterness and all. more of an adult type drink. but good. definitely good. distinctive too.

Wow, this root beer is very excellent. I recommend that you also try Steelhead’s Spicy Licorice Root Beer which is only available on draft (I sampled this and it was pretty good). This bottled one is their honey vanilla version which they only put into bottles. I was surprised to see that there was no cane sugar but just honey instead! Wow, what a taste! It’s really good and might even make my top ten list. This has a very smooth flavor and low carbonation. Tastes great just right out of the bottle. 88 out of 100!!
