Jones Cane Sugar Root Beer

I am always kind of surprised that this brand is still around. they seemed to be rather popular in the late 90s, like Surge or Crystal Pepsi or something so I just assume they disappeared as well. probably since I don’t see their stuff nearly as much. you can still send it your photos for possible inclusion on the mass produced bottles or get a custom run of soda with any photo you want, within reason I would assume. but here they are, still going and now making their drinks with cane sugar as the times demand. so that is cool. they also still have the old twist off style tops, which are not as old as the usual thinner twist off tops actually, but seem more strange and out of place these days. perhaps there is an advantage to that kind of cap but I am not educated on such matters.
I have not tried their root beer in probably 20 years so basically this is all new to me even if it wasn’t a new recipe. by gosh, this is a sweet drink, woo! this actually reminds me of if I made a sassafras tea with a ton of sugar, chilled and carbonated it. that is, it is rather herbal tasting beyond the overwhelming sugar in there. it also has a creamy side and foams up a lot with a very long lasting head. as I drink this more the creaminess becomes more pronounced and the herbal stuff takes a backseat. it is always strange to me when sodas do that. is it that they are not mixed well and different flavors settle more towards the middle and bottom of the bottle or is it my taste buds adapting to the taste and not registering the initial flavors as well?
