i was unaware that Appalachian Brewing Company even made a diet version of their soda until i happened upon it at a supermarket while fleeing a hurricane. so good things happen at unexpected times i suppose. if a diet soda can ever be a good thing… i will say it is here though, as i always am looking for new sodas and Appalachian Brewing Co’s regular root beer is fantastic. thus perhaps this one will be the odd diet soda that is also tasty. i somewhat doubt that as stevia sweetened drinks have so far been pretty vile. i am not sure how this has no sugar content in it since it does have honey, but whatever, i will take the nutritional info at its word.
you see, i want to like this. i absolutely LOVE ABC’s regular root beer. i served it at my wedding. but this right here is a vile concoction. ug. for a split second it almost tastes like root beer, spices and herbs and junk, but then it just hits like a ton of rotten, moist bricks and i want to wash my mouth out. it is bitter and harsh and metallic and just not at all anything close to good. my high hopes have been dashed. my low hopes were also dashed at the same time. i had expected better ABC, sorry to say this is terrible.

It never fails to astonish me just how awful artificial sweeteners are, including the much-lauded stevia. Blecch.
You’re a brave man to try all of those diet root beers. There’s also a typo “happy” instead of “happen”.
