I am guessing I got this from a trade with Tony, but it may have been from Vince. who ever it was, thank you once again and I apologize for not labeling it.
this is bottled by Twig’s who also make their own regular root beer. I think they also make a few other brands but I could be mistaken about that. the label proclaims this as a tribute to the Farmer’s Brewery which was started in 1908 by farmers and made beer until the 1940s. I do not know how they survived Prohibition, perhaps illegally or perhaps by making root beer. there are quite a few butterscotch root beers out there now so it is not the rarity or unusual thing it once was. nonetheless it is still unique. generally they seem to fall into two camps. the first set is the ones that overdo the butterscotch so they are just wretched, too sweet and tasting off. the second set is the good stuff, they get it right and are quite yummy. here’s hoping this one is the latter.
hhhhmmmm yeah I’d say it is. although it is very close to that line. it is awfully sweet and the butterscotch is for sure the dominant flavor but I am liking it. the root beer flavor takes the back seat but it is present enough for me to say it is a root beer. of the butterscotch root beers I can recall, this is one of the better ones. I kind of want more of it. but then I would drink that too and I can’t drink that much soda.
