Blumers Root Beer

so people occasionally write to me and tell me about some soda available near them, asking WHY in the world have i not reviewed it?! sometimes those people will say they will send me a bottle or can and we trade addresses but usually the people do not. sometimes too i forget to send them some sodas from here in return for a long time, but eventually i think i do. so anyhow, Bob actually sent me 3 bottles of Blumers! what a guy. of course i just now found their website where i could have ordered from, but this is even better. for me at least. ok, this soda is very good, i must admit but there is some strange subtle taste in there that i don’t like. the thing about this soda is that although it is good, it is virtually indistinguishable from many other “very good” sodas so i suppose it will suffer slightly by being reviewed 267th or whatever it is now. creamy, smooth with a little bit too little carbonation i would say, strangely. could just be this bottle though.

  3. Why is it so difficult to find a shop that you can go into and buy the Blumers Root Beer? After the 150 years one would think there are a multitude of locations that they must be shipping too? Help. I live near Rockford, Illinois but could go to Chicago if necessary.

  4. Just tried this one. They actually use cane sugar now. This root beer does not have any sort of “spectacular” flavor; however it is very well put together. This root beer literally hits every flavor note and no flavor overpowers the other. I could taste sassafras, vanilla/cream, wintergreen, and a few others. I actually quite like this as I could purchase a whole box of this and put it in my soda machine. I’d definitely give this a high score of 91. I especially like it how it really has no noticeable bitter flavor. I really have this thing against root beers that have bitter flavors, and bitter flavor – this does not have….which is fine with me. I’d recommend this one to any root beer drinker.
