Olde Philadelphia Diet Root Beer

i did not even know this existed until i saw it at a supermarket near my job while looking for something else. but that is often the case with new sodas these days. well, maybe not as often as it used to be. i like to think i am pretty attuned to what sodas are out there. especially ones that are made in my general area. before the web was so prevalent it was much harder to know even what was close by. i try to do searches a lot and people emailed me often to tell me of something close to me i don’t know of. but sometimes things slip through. especially diet sodas. actually i was hoping to find with Olde Philadelphia Birch Beer on this questing trip, but it has eluded me yet again. if it really exists that is.
as with many diets, this is ok at first but then turns gross. does this happen with people who claim to enjoy diet drinks and sweeteners in general? or do you get numb to the vile metal taste on your tongue? i really am curious. perhaps if i had to drink diet drinks i could tolerate it as i know that caloric drinks would be the death of me. yet, with all of the seeming evidence that artificial sweeteners will also be the death of you, albeit less directly, i would hope people would give up entirely on diet drinks. or maybe stick with stevia or something that is gross, but won’t kill you.
so yeah decent root beer taste, kind of creamy and smooth for 0.75 seconds, then it is yucky.
