Otto's Pub and Brewery Root Beer

another soda coming to be from the glorious Gene! he is indeed a gem. coming from State College, PA, this one has been made since 2002 and is named after Otto the cat. I am not sure I have seen a cat named root beer. there have been many dog named ones of course, a killer whale one, several bear themed ones as well but no cats I can recall. so nice job Otto the cat! although the chances he is still alive are rather slim I suppose. in that case RIP Otto the cat, thank you for all you did.
I am very thirsty at the current moment. it has been a hot day, I have been outside a decent amount and although I thought I drank sufficient liquids, nonetheless I am parched. that hopefully will not influence this review.
well, they are not really breaking new ground, but they are treading in some pretty high peaks, as this is a good soda. carbonation is spot on, not taking away but adding to the experience. the flavor is rather sweet with a hint of molasses I think under a strong root beer taste that is both hearty and refreshing. oh it has dark brown sugar, yeah, that is probably what I am detecting here. other sodas are similar in ways, sure, but still kudos must be given to the ones that do it right and well and make a very yummy beverage. I may have to get out to State College myself sometime for kid college visits and if I do I am sure I will stock up on this one.
