my daughter texted me yesterday to ask if I had had Pirate Pete’s sodas as she was an the New Jersey Punk Rock Flea Market and they had a truck at the food truck area. I said I had not and shorty after high tailed (hightailed? yeah I guess it is one word, huh) it over there! happily I did not have to pay the entrance fee to go to the food truck area so I happily handed over my $15 for unlimited refills in a stainless steel mug. they have a truck with like 8 or so different kinds of soda on tap and you just fill up that mug as much as your little heart desires and your belly can tolerate! now I have seen Wild Bill’s truck several times at different events but I do not know anything about Pirate Pete and this company. investigating them more I see they are actually from my home state of NJ so hopefully I will see them again especially as I can use my mug for $5 refills in the future! but I imagine I will forget to bring it as that has always been the case thus far with my other steel mug that sit in my basement. of course the first soda I tried was the root beer!
this is a nice root beer! I am tasting some cinnamon, maybe a little clove and a hit of wintergreen. they make this very foamy coming out of the tap which is fun but also kind of slows down the rest of the people waiting to fill up theirs mugs. the sweetness is spot on, very well done there. so it is a little unique but not nuts or super creative yet results in a quite good drink. I ended up getting two more refills of this one while I was there and look forward to more another day!
