the cane sugar here adds a different little zing to this root beer. makes it more carmel-y i suppose. it is quite a tasty little brew also in any case. i’d drink it more if i could get it anywhere near me at all. alas… such problems…
the taste otherwise is pretty traditional but a near perfect example of what that traditional taste can be. the cane sugar kicks it up a notch for me and adds a couple more review points. i know some people don’t like the taste of cane sugar, but frankly those people may not be actual people, but lizard people. or perhaps insect people. insects seem much more likely to infest corn plants than cane sugar plants, right? so of course they would be attracted to corn syrup ladden beverages. so yeah, probably not lizard people as i think lizards would be more in cane sugar fields, just hangin out in the shade and junk, than they would be in a corn field.
so if you are an insect person you may not like this too much. if you are an actual human, drink up.

Excellent RB. Had it on tap in a “rootbeer saloon” in Alto Pass IL. It was perhaps made better by being on tap: The saloon is, get this, a combo bar restaurant & taxidermy shop (I kid you not), & has 5-6 mircobrew rootbeers on tap.
Another lousy root beer in my opinon.
Through it away without finishing.
A near perfect balance of flavors.
Tried this one about a year ago. Yeah, it’s pretty good. Tastes almost like a root beer float. Not bad at all. I’d say it’s a little above average. Maybe a point below Frostie Root Beer. I give it an 84.
One of my favorite root beers before I arrived in Wisconsin. It has a great multi-dimensional flavor and is very consistent. (This is not the package/label I was used to buying it in while living in Northern Michigan!)

Tried again. Honestly, quite a tasty brew. A little more on the vanilla ice cream/cream soda flavor profile, and it has a weird marshmallow flavor that is prominent (to me at least). I do like a more rootier root beer. I like one that has some good root flavors. This one….. not so much. However the flavor is really good and very satisfying. For the vanilla ice cream type root beers, I really thing this one is good. I give it one more point than I previously gave it. I now give it an 85. Really solid flavor….. even though it’s not exactly my style of root beer.
