Dog n Suds Draft Style Root Beer

although it is quite tasty, this root beer is not as amazing as i had hoped or maybe i was just expecting too much from all the praise it has gotten and how highly it came recommended. kind of a less creamy and smooth Saranac. don’t get me wrong though, i like it quite a bit and would definitely get it more if i could.

  1. I gave this a low 40, it also was light in color and not a strong flavor. Rick b

The canned/bottled Dogs n Suds is not what you should go by. When I was a kid we used to go the Dogs n Suds in Pine Bluff, and I’ll never forget the mugs–they were HUGE and actually made of glass–bubbling over with froth. It’s best enjoyed fresh from the tap with a coney dog and onion rings. Of course, that was 40 years ago.

I’ve drank 10 different root beers from my 24-pack from popsoda.com so far and this is by far the best. So smooth and creamy. Could use maybe a bit more bite, though.

This one to me was just OK. I would drink it if someonone served it tome, but I wouln’t but it again.

I like this one–though I wish it was cane sugar. For whatever reason, it is one of the biggest sellers at my shop (analog photo supplies & glass bottle sodas, mostly root beer.) It is one of a handful that is MUCH better when it is really cold, and gets a little weird as it warms up.

not a bad root beer. it was had a good creamy texture, but the flavors didn’t stand out to me. my girlfriend absolutely loves it though.

To me, this root beer summons up the old time A&W flavor. A review above complained about it not being sweetened with cane sugar. My bottle says cane sugar. My bottle was very lightly carbonated, but I am attributing that to a quirk of the brew, and have another bottle waiting for a follow up tasting. This is one of the most mellow root beers I have tried.

Wow not sure what you guys been drinking here, I have reviewed over 125 different root beers, and I give them grades of A+ to F-. Dog n Suds gets a D.
Although though the foamy head on this root beer was long lasting and contained small bubbles it had a lighter color brown slight amber, red to it. The taste and flavor how ever of this root beer had a strong household chemical smell and taste. It actually reminded me of dish soap. I was barely able to drink the whole bottle it was so off putting. The after taste as well left a strong chemical taste in my mouth. Just because you have a cute dog on your label does not mean you can make a good root beer. Again, this root beer barely gets a D if not leaning to F. Alan P
