ok, well, that sort of stinks. Robert was kind enough to send me two (2) bottles of this beverage and by the time i get around to reviewing it, the place that makes it has closed down and you can’t get it anymore! in part, it stinks that i am so slow but mostly since another root beer is gone from the world. alas and indeed alack. well, huge thanks to Robert anyhow, he rocks. the soda WAS made in St Louis by/for Busch’s Grove Market. a shame.
the soda itself is good. it has a very large head which is a fun thing i suppose, it looks good and “root beer” like in your frosty mug if you are partial to such things. but really it does not add anything beyond the visual appeal i don’t think. strangely though it is not too highly carbonated. i guess those don’t go hand in hand.
i am torn on the taste. some swallows i think it is quite good, others i feel like it is a little weird in the aftertaste. the initial flavor is good, pretty creamy, very sweet with no real tricks. but there is a slightly sharp aftertaste which pulls it down a little. not a lot, but a bit. so if you happen to find some of this somehow at Big Lots or something like hat, grab it, it is tasty and probably hella cheap. but if you missed out, oh well, don’t cry about it, there are lots more sodas out there, right?
