Olipop Classic Root Beer

I imagine there is a segment of the population who really really love soda, but also really want to be healthy and not eat yogurt or kefir or kimchee or sauerkraut or whatever else has probiotics in it. (oh wait, this has PREbiotics in it, well anyway the thought still applies) these people especially dream and wish these two things would come together, along with a pile of fiber so they could just skip all those steps of consuming several things and instead drink down one can. the Olipop people have made that dream a reality with this Olipop Classic Root Beer!
look, I am guilty of trying to be healthy and get that healthiness in whatever means, but soda just so rarely works out to be healthy in my experiences. much like candy. healthy candy just isn’t the same. cake? eh, I have made some yum yummity black bean brownies and zucchini cupcakes but in the end they are not as good as the real thing. a tasty healthy soda just isn’t something I’ve encountered yet.
so you may have gathered that I am not anticipating this will be good. I hope I am wrong though.
well, I am not wrong. now, it is not awful, that is true. but it isn’t really remotely root beer tasting. even that I can get over if it tastes good but it really doesn’t. the taste is a little bitter, a little herby, with a pretty bad aftertaste. they threw a whole lot of stuff in here, just look at those ingredients! at least 75% of that stuff I have never seen in a root beer. unlike a few drink I have reviewed over the years, I can actually finish this one so it is not the worst I have had, but still I would never pick this over about 900 other sodas.
