diet root beers

Begley’s and Bill’s Root Beer

so Ed Begley Jr has started a soda company. i know he is an actor but i have no idea what he was in or is famous for. besides his more recent fame for green fanaticism. that carries through to this product as it is all natural. that includes a proprietary mix of natural sweeteners, both of which i have found vile in the past so i have little hope for this. whether that is a good thing and it will be a pleasant surprise or it will be bad as expected remains to be seen. it only has 8 calories per bottle but they don’t mention it being diet, probably to help sales. nonetheless i classify it as diet.
the label is fine. they seem to be ready to market to a french Canadian market as well as english since all of the info on it is in french as well as english.
well, let me try it… hhhmmm, not as awful as i expected. it is not good really, but it is better than some. it tastes a little like traditional root beer, sort of creamy for a moment, but it is overtaken by a not good harsh taste. it is not really bitter or sour, but just ‘off’ to me. but, for a diet, it is decent. i won’t be drinking at more of it mind you, but i would not be too ashamed to give it out to my friends who do drink diet sodas.
