Rocket Fizz seems to be coming out with new stuff all the time. granted it is not always stuff I am interested in, like bacon soda or creamed corn soda, but still it is great that they are always trying new things. when i just added this soda to my database I noticed that the ingredients and nutritional info are exactly the same as their Gene Autry Root Beer which I reviewed a few months ago. i will give them the benefit of the doubt here and assume they made different formulas, but it would be sneaky to just have different names and labels on the same product. I will have to go read my review of that one after I finish this one and see if I say the same thing.
this one has a very large, foamy, long lasting head, that is rather surprising for some reason. it also has a very high carbonation level. the two things are unrelated really, but i mention them back to back anyway. i have the expectation when i have a sarsaparilla that it will be “bold” or taste big but often it does not. this one does not. it is fine, but it is creamy and smooth where i hoped for spicy and herbal and really kicking me in the tongue parts. it could even be a bit more flavorful, it just fades away a little too quickly for my tastes. but what is there is pretty solid, for a root beer. or a drink in general.

Not good in my book. Too sweet and fake tasting. Not rooty enough to be a sarsparilla.
