Freaky Dog Barkin Birch Beer

i noticed there were about five sodas at Soda Emporium i had never had and strangely they were all birch beers. well, one root beer, the one from Freaky Dog, but it was out of stock anyway, so the five i could get were birches. i debated not ordering this one since i have had a long standing plan to head to Conneticutt with a couple of good friends on a root beer quest. i figured though that i can always get more of this and having one less soda to find is not the worst thing, there are still two other Freaky Dog sodas to get anyway.
so yeah, this is a good soda so i may have to get more if i do encounter it again. it has the requisite wintergreen taste for a solid white birch and does not overdo it. it is nicely sweetened and carbonated also, not harsh or syrupy. it is one of the better white birches for sure. but it does blend in with that crowd, especially the other CT brews. i would not have any idea if this was Freaky Dog or Foxon Park or Avery’s. i actually think it is a touch better than Foxon Park though really. i am not sure what can be done to make it set itself apart more, it is great in large part because of its simplicity. crisp, refreshing and a good drink. i look forward to their root beer. not so much to the diet but we shall see, perhaps it will be amazing.
