i am very excited to try a real draft birch beer! this is indeed very much a rarity. I really can’t recall the last time i had a draft birch beer. ok, now i can, it was about a year ago, but besides that i think it would be about a decade or more. i mean, besides the couple times i got kegs of A Treat (RIP) Birch for celebrations, but that does not count in the same way.
This place was stop #4 on my Long Island Root Beer Quest 2015 with my friend Michael, but I am reviewing it first as it is in a growler and will go bad soon. Michael used to live in the Port Jefferson area so it was fun to go back there with him and all.
this was my first time going to a brewery that had no real restaurant attached to it but instead only a tasting room where you can try tiny samples and get drinks to go. it was interesting and actually quite quick to get in and out of. so that worked out well for me.
Ok, this is really pretty bad. wow, not sweet at all. just bitter and watery. ick. maybe they left out the sugar or something but this is among the worst birch beers i have ever had. i am sorry to report that. i am fully in favor of any place that makes their own soda, especially birch beer as i secretly like it better than root beer, so i wanted to endorse this product yet I cannot.
