Tony has gotten me another great, rare soda! woo hoo, thank you sir! I love their bottle design, it is all twisty and fun with very classic looking logo and only the cap indicating what flavor you have. but i hate that it is only 8 oz. that’s annoying. i scaled the nutritional info to be for a normal 12 oz, so don’t get too alarmed by what you see below. it is also a returnable, refillable bottle. i always feel a bit guilty keeping such bottles, but it will go to the collection so hopefully that makes it worth it somehow.
this is actually a pretty unique tasting drink. it has a very strong taste of what i think is cinnamon. i like cinnamon so i am fine with that. there is something else herbal tasting mixed in which i can’t exactly place, perhaps sassafras to make it somewhat “rooty.” the carbonation level is low as is the head. it is interesting for sure. i’d drink it more if i could get it easily. it goes down easily and is tasty but isn’t exactly my favorite ever.

I live here in MN and its ok, not my favorite, I give this a 60. But if your interested, they have about 15 or more flavors of Soda. I just came back from this store, http://bluesunsodashop.com/
They have all the flavors of Whistler brand. If you want to try some other flavors, let me know.
You should feel guilty for keeping thse bottles Anthony ;). That’s the very reason they dumbed down their bottle design and switched over to a normal bottle design. This eliminates so many people not returning the bottles, because it’s not pretty.
I was fortunate enough to try this soda (in their nice old style glass bottle) and I definitely thinks this deserves an 89. It’s got a very nice syrupy flavor to it. Is this unique to returnable glass bottle sodas or something? I once tried a Dunlin Dr Pepper in a returnable bottle and noticed the taste of extra syrup…..absolutely love it. I love the fact that it tastes like they give you a lot of flavor in such a small bottle, and it’s a very sweet root beer without tasting too sweet. This root beer has a kind of heavy vanilla flavor with some sassafras added. The nice lady who gave me a tour even noted that their is a hint I’d cinnamon. After she told me, then I could pick up the cinnamon note. Not bad stuff. I could buy a case of this. It has that “returnable bottle” flavor that I like.
