this is such an exciting time in the root beer world I must say! there are so many brewers making root beers for the first time, or starting to bottle them or can them! and there is such a wonderful, supportive, strong community of root beer collectors who trade brews all over the nation. i myself have fallen behind in my questing so i am very grateful to everyone that lets me know about new drinks or trades with me, or even sends them to me with the knowledge that i will return the favor next time i have new things for them.
anyway, this soda came to me through that fantastic root beer network. I had it in my database but when i entered it, it was only on tap so i am delighted to see it is bottled now. i would say i should wait to try it before saying that, but any new bottled brew is ok by me on some level.
so the label is pretty cool, a drawing of a big rock and a farm at the base of it. it gets the title’s message across. it is semi-unique for a root beer but i feel like it is a little generic for a brewery drink, that is it looks like a lot of beer labels. but whatever, it is decent and attractive and not a beer anyway!
now how does it taste? eh, it is ok, it is a little bitter for my tastes. it could use an increase in sweetness perhaps. or maybe made more creamy and smooth. it is not a bad drink by any stretch but it doesn’t distinguish itself or seem to try to do anything too unusual. it is fine to drink with a meal or whatever but not what i would want to grab when seeking something awesome.
