this right here came from the generosity of the fantastic Soda Pop Bros who are doing some very fun things in Canada. it has been quite some time since I had a dandelion and burdock and frankly, I don’t think I have much enjoyed any of them. but today might be the day, this might be the one! right? maybe? could be!
well, this is different I must say. I am not sure if I like it. it is most like a kind of good tasting cough syrup. this must be what it is like for non-Americans to try root beer or especially birch beer for the first time when, I am told, they say it is gross and tastes like toothpaste. perhaps I have grown more accustomed to that flavor at this point. when I offered my wife a sample, she thought it was wretched and absolutely terrible. this bottle has barely any carbonation which I have no idea is normal for this or not. as it is a store brand and thus generic soda, I would guess this is kind of the default flavor of dandelion & burdock. it is very sweet and a weird herbal taste that, yes, is more medicinal than anything else. I find it a bit strange that some people choose this to drink over other things, but some people like mushrooms or olives, so everyone has different tastes. as I said, this isn’t bad really, I would drink it again for variety but wouldn’t really pick it often. even with all that, I think this is probably the best dandelion & burdock I have had so far, so take that as you will.
